Life again

Went to Brian Hladin's life drawing session today with my good bud Mark Stanleigh.

It felt good to work with traditional medium again. Needless to say, needs work but it's a start.

This week's focus was proportion.

Dr. Sketchy

Went to Dr. Sketchy session today for the first time. It was pretty amazing.

It was a lot of fun doing these. Altough I haven't been to extra life so much this year, it's one thing about Sheridan I'm going to miss (during summer).

Zoooooo

Going to the zoo reminds me of good old summer last year. It's march break so there were families as expected. I thought having people would get in the way but it provided some entertainment as I wondered the zoo alone.

It is rare to see lions all sitting around outside in the clearing. So I was pretty excited. but I wasn't the only one.

The male lion got up to hump the female about three times.

Kid1: "What are they doing?"
Man1: "He is dominating"
Kid1: "What is dominating mommy?"
mom1: "Its a kind of dance..."

on a separate occasion I also heard..

mom2: "close your eyes."

Preparing for Mark Thurman marking

While going through bunch of newsprint pads to salvage something decent, I took some pictures.

Thurman liked Tom Tom's. Probably because it was most realistic looking one.

Zoonimation 2007

Five hours at the zoo was not nearly enough time... I didn't get any good sketches at all.

I thought I could study the animal anatomy at the view by drawing them but without the general knowledge, I didn't know where to start. Animal books, here I come.

Hands, Feet & crappy scanner

not good enough for A+. I usualy don't care about marks but its Thurman, dudes!
Pretty decent for rush job. I guess sometimes rush works turn out better for sketches because you just put in needed amount of details.
School scanner can be really crappy at times. I'll need to re scan these at home later.
